Hope from Crisis! Kick-off meeting of Shiga Citizens’ Group

On February 20^th, the inaugural meeting of the Shiga Citizens’ Group for the Repeal of Security Act and Recovery of Constitutionalism was held at Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. The venue was a full house with 300 participants, some of them standing. The aim of the group is set up a coalition of opposition parties in Shiga. The meeting came about only two months after the first call in December. One of  the founders, FUKUI Masahide, addressed the audience, saying “The turnout for this meeting reminds me that hope comes out of crisis.” (MASAKI Toshiyuki)

危機は希望を生む！～「市民の会しが」キックオフ集会に300人
 

 2月20日、滋賀県の草津市役所に隣接したアミカホールで、「市民の会 しが」（正式には 「安保法制の廃止と立憲主義の回復を求める市民の会しが」） の結成集会が行われた。雨がかなり激しく降るあいにくの天気だったが、参加者数はホール定員いっぱいの約300名。立ち見も出る盛況だった。この会は、①安全保障関連法の廃止 ②立憲主義の回復（集団的自衛権行使容認の閣議決定の撤回 を含む） ③個人の尊厳を大切にする政治の実現、という3つの目的を掲げ、滋賀県での野党共闘を実現しようというもの。最初の呼びかけが昨年暮れというから、わずか2ヶ月で大規模な集会をやり遂げたことになる。呼びかけ人代表の福井雅英さんはスピーチの中で「集会を見ていて、《危機は希望を生む》と思いました」と述べている。（正木俊行）
