Rengo says No to the Security Bills




The largest confederation of labor in Japan, JTUC Rengo, stood up to say No to the security bills. More than 50 unions affiliated to Rengo surrounded the Diet building for one and a half hour before noon, August 23rd. The Japan Teachers’ Union hoisted a banner, saying “We will not send our students to the fields of war.” The rally was attended by 14 thousand workers. OKUDA Aki, a member of SEALDs (Students Emergency Action for Liberal Democracy) joined the rally and gave a solidarity speech and also showed how to chant in SEALDs style. KOUZU Rikio, the general secretary of Rengo, told the reporter, “The massive turnout shows that ordinary citizens are getting angry with Prime Minister Abe. Rengo will strengthen its struggle against the security bills by waging sit-ins, but also continue our fight against the deregulation of labor laws. (M)



ついに日本最大のナショナルセンターである「連合」も「安保法案NO!」に立ち上がった。823日暑い日差しの中、午前10時半から12時まで国会を取り 囲む形で、日教組・自動車総連・私鉄・情報労連・電力総連・フード連合・全国ユニオンなど50以上の連合傘下の労組団体が結集した。「教え子を再び戦場に 送るな」の横断幕が目立つ。人数は14000人に達した。集会は、「安倍暴走にNO!・労働者保護ルール改悪NO!・安保法案NO!」の3部に分かれて行われた。シールズの奥田愛基さんも連帯挨拶に駆けつけ、シールズ式コールを披露した。神津連合事務局長は、「これだけ集まったのは、安倍政権への怒りが普通の人たちに広がっているからだ。今後も労働法制問題と一緒に、国会前座り込みをはじめ運動を強めていきたい」と記者に語った。(M)
